Your points are well taken. But I believe my situation is a bit different than being a pastor or having a musical talent. I do think I have a gift for relating to and mentoring boys. But I also have within me the potential for really screwing them up. Personally, I don't believe I would ever do so, but God is the better judge of that than I. So I leave it in His hands. Having a YF is something that I would want. But I'm more concerned with what God would want and what the boy wants and needs. To try to mentor a boy without God's leading and help would most likely be doomed to failure or worse. So I choose to wait for God to set it up so I won't be doing it for my own selfish reasons and needs. I've prayed about it, and this seems best for me. As always, I'm at God's disposal, willing to so whatever He would have me do. But I need Him to lead me.
