Hi. I'm a southern baptist as well, and I know very well the ways in which they can talk about homosexuality and the like. And a lot of them are just truly oblivious to reality.

I also understand the way you feel about your attractions. When you are brought up believing fully that homosexuality is a choice and that those who choose it are going to hell, it's pretty hard to accept yourself. Personally, I had to read and study the passages in the Bible that talk about homosexuality for myself and step out of the box that many southern baptist are stuck in. And along with help from people here and others, I learned and accepted that my attractions weren't something I made a choice about (which was something I knew deep down, but that I just didn't want to accept because of what I was taught growing up).

I still attend a Baptist church, and I still hear those same things about homosexuality from people. But I also have many friends at the church that know about my attractions and still accept me, because they know that it wasn't a choice I made.

Not sure if this was really advice or just me letting you know that you're not alone. :)
