as someone who's happily settled as an Evangelical, I'm always sad to hear of people who've found our approach inadequate for some reason. I'd encourage you to make sure that you read the whole of the bible, and not just the bits that anyone is focusing on. The mainstream Christian church rejected the views that the JWs espouse in 325AD for good reasons, but they are not easy to summarise and it took quite some time for the consensus of the church to reject their views (known as Arianism). The internet provides vast amounts of material on both sides of the issue: googling 'Jehovah witness cult' gives plenty of material offering a sceptical view, to put it politely!
