I'm not sure if you realize this but wish lists in Amazon and other such merchants are meant to be public. People tend to use them as a way to bookmark things they intend to purchase for themselves later, but their true purpose is to serve as a kind of gift registry for when people are unsure what to get you. Thus, be aware that if people search for you by name or email on amazon, they will be presented with your full wishlist. Also, there are a variety of people search agregators that will present this information as well. Knowing this, you might want to trim your wish list or make certain parts of it private.

To see what I mean, log out of Amazon then click on "Gifts & Wishlists" on the main page. Near the upper right is a search bar that says "Find Wish Lists and Registries". Type your name or email there. You will then be presented with what anyone else who did the same thing would see from your wishlist.
