I saw a news article about a child abduction that ended in the rape and death of the child and I began to think about the type of person that could commit such a horrendous crime... I know people like this tend to be sociopaths but I was wondering are majority of these type of people also atheists?

Does lack of faith result in this type of behavior where a person may think during their existence on this earth they are entitled to take whatever they want even if it means hurting another person because they don't have any fears about the consequences of an after life or having to answer for their sins ?
