I don't believe I resist the term gay. It just doesn't seem to fit, so I don't use it. If I told someone I'm gay, they really wouldn't be any closer to understanding my orientation than if I didn't; thus it's just not a very useful label. I don't have any sort of emotional resistance to the term, it just doesn't seem to be a very useful term in describing who I am.
