I stand corrected on Luther - I guess he was so formed by the Catholic tradition that he didn't work out that this aspect was wrong headed; that quote is pure Augustine. However Calvin comments on the 'honour of marriage', reacting against the celibacy imposed by the Popes (see the reference below as a quickly googled example of his thought). And by the time of the English puritans 100 years later, views seem to have taken a strongly 'sex affirming' stance; thus
