I was referring to the societal view of BL. In the work they discuss BL so casually since it wasn't outside the norm for that time and culture. I meant hope that one day society would return to this state of mind and we could express our love however we may please. Religious documents are full of contradictions and speculation while this work was more historically recent, and a glimpse into what was accepted in that time.
