The Lords Path For our live VS Our own Path.

Proverbs, 3: 5-8

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not onto your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes-fear the Lord and depart from evil. It shall be health to your navel and refreshment to your bones.

This has always been one of my favorite Scriptures.

As humans we tend to trust in our own wisdom and understanding as we try to lives. There is so much in our lives and in the world that we just can not comprehend or understand. So we read study and research and fill our minds with worldly knowledge giving us a false sense of security, when used to replace the real truth it leads us to walking our own path in life. As Christians we are told to trust in the Lord acknowledge Him and depart from evil so He can direct our paths. In the times that we live in where everything seems to be going crazy with so much uncertainty about our future and evil is all around us this can truly be a hard scripture to live.

But no matter what is going on in our lives or in the world if we put the Lord first in all of our ways trust in Him and what His word says the path He directs for our lives will be well lit so we do not stumble in the darkness. As Christians we are not expected to understand all there is to know. But what the Lord does expect from us is to trust in his ways weather or not we understand, to believe that which we can not see and to live by faith even if or when it makes no sense to us.

How do we accomplish this? We need to make time every day to pray read His Word and trust the Holy Spirit to lead us into all truth and understanding allowing us to have a personal relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus. We need to use the gifts given to us for the glory of the Lord so that He can use us in the work he has prepared for us to do. We need to be involved with other Christians for corporate worship and fellowship. And you have to be willing to walk the path that the Lord directs in your life instead of your own.

Do we really in all of our ways (in every area of our lives) acknowledge Jesus? Do we depart from evil or do we hold back and try to justify something we do not want to let go of? Do we really love the Lord and others the way God commands us to? I bring all of this up because it is healthy for us to question our own motives (not others) because it is so easy to fool ourselves into leaning on our own understanding instead of trusting in the Lord with all of our hearts.

Prayer

Heavenly Father our only hope is in you Son Jesus. Help us to not hold back any part of our live or heart and to give over our selves entirely to Your will so that we can live the life and walk the path that You are directing us to be on. Let Your Holy Spirit guide us into all truth and give us the love for You and others so that we may glorify Your name in all that we do. In Jesus Name I Pray AMEN.
