Our Foundation

Matthew 7, 21-27
21"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' 23Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'

24"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash."

The Lord is the corner stone of the foundation on which we are to build our lives. He makes it real clear that a wise man puts into practice and lives out the word of the Lord in his life. It is also clear that there are going to be storms in every person’s life. As Christians we are not exempt from this just because we belong to Jesus. But if we put our trust in the Lord and live our lives according to His Word when those storms come we will not fall. We will stand firm and our faith will not be shaken. In the days that we live this is a great testimony of our lives as people see the storms that we survive in life and opens a great door for us to share our faith with others. If we truly belong to Jesus He says we will do the will of His Father in Heaven.

The Lord also gives a very strong warning to those that may do many things in His name but do not do the will of his father. Not only will their house/life fall when the storms come in life but when they die and stand before Him He will say I never knew you.

Living our lives for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is so important as a witness to the world our friends and family. For we are the ones that He uses in this life to be a shining light so that others might see the way of Salvation through the life that we are living for the Lord. On what foundation are we really building our lives on and do we really put into practice the Words of our Lord? How important is our personal relationship with Jesus? Is this the top priority in our lives like it should be?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I ask that as we go through this live that we will build our life on the foundation of your word and put what we learn and hear from your Word into practice. I ask that you would open the door for us to share your Word and be the shining light to the people you put in our life that do not know you. Thank you for the Salvation through your Son Jesus Christ and for every opportunity to share this wonderful gift with others. IN JESUS NAME AMEN.
