We are at war

Revelation 12:7-9, 7And there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. 8But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. 9The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.

Ephesians 6:11-12, 11Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

2 Corinthians 4:18, So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Proverbs 4:23, Above all else, guard your heart,
for it is the wellspring of life.

Prayer is one of the most powerful weapons that we have and for me and most of the people that I’ve talked to we always seem to pray on the defensive. We wait until there is a problem or something bad happens in our life to combat the fight that has been brought to us. We have been born into a world at war, a spiritual war waged by Satan. As Christians we need to pray and take the battle on the offensive, not wait until Satan’s attack against us our family friends or Church is fully under way.

The last thing that Satin wants is for us to know is the power that we have through the shed Blood of Jesus Christ and how to use it in this spiritual war we are in. He does not want us to be affective Christians living for Christ and would like nothing more than to destroy our witness and testimony for the lord. So that we will not be able to help advance the kingdom of God bringing others to Christ through the Holy Spirit working in our lives.

I know for a lot of people including myself, this is not a subject that we think about on a daily basses. But we live in a time where evil is abounding and Satan is attacking the family, the Church, our children and everything that we hold sacred. I really believe that it is time that as Christians we start taking at least some time every day to do battle in our prayer lives, for if we don’t no one will and that is exactly what Satan wants, for us to be complacent caring only about the things that we can see not taking the spiritual battle seriously.

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, please help us to have the spiritual eyes that we need so that we can see clearly what is really going on. Lord help us to know what to pray for through the power of your holy Spirit. Help us to be prepared for this battle having a close relationship with you and through studying and knowing your Word the Bible. Thank you for all that you have done and are doing in our lives and for the awesome love that you have for us. Give us the strength and protection that we need to do the job that you have given each one of us to do. In Jesus Name I Pray AMEN.
