I've been wondering guys. This 'fallen' attitude that mankind has to sexuality. Shame, cover it up, that's dirty, you get the gist.
Where did it come from??? When was the point where humans began to recognise it as a bad thing? When was the point when the first mother shielded her child's eyes from a lewd act? When was the point when the first father chastised his son for masturbating? Obviously, Mosaic law and cultural evolution has a lot to do with it. But I suspect it's quite a bit deeper than that... I need to gather theories. My first bet is that perhaps people NEEDED to repress their sexualities so that they would not go off and shag so much. Perhaps, since only married relationships were stable, only married couples should have children, so that's how it got started? Or maybe... wimpy little boys had a bad first wank and got scared. I don't know. Maybe at that time the psyche was a lot more paranoid. The author 'Steve Taylor' in his book 'The Fall' gives the interpretation that since the ego feels itself seperate from the body, it, in a way, 'declares war' on the body and sees it's sexual drive as an enemy trying to control it. This is a good explaination... but not good enough. I would have imagine that the 'ego' would have just glorified sexual gratification as a tool to heighten itself and also as an extra reason to carry on living. I know that's how I treat it (well, if you minus the occasional pathetic religious shame I get now and again). Place your cards, guys. BoyLovers should be experts in this field.
