The pedophilia pogrom is really scraping the bottom of the barrel of old fashioned group-based bigotry. After us, there's nothing left. It's great that society got the problem licked to this extent, making racism, sexism, religious prejudice and homophobia deeply unkosher. It's just that with all those other delusions swept away, the delusion that the pedophile is a despicable monster is the only one left, the last scapegoat on the field.

We can't let the fascists win this one, though, or they may start to rebuild their other biases. This is the thin edge of the wedge of society sanctioning vicious illusion about whole groups of people.
