If you know your history you'd also know that before the late 1970s'/80s pedophiles were not really on people's mental radars. It wasn't so bad to be one of us. The attitudes before that time period were closer to neutral than negative. That was when feminism got real big preschool scares of the 80s (all of which were determined later to be fake). The 60s and 70s had lots of groups fighting to change things African Americans, women, gay people, and NAMBLA. It was a time of hope and change for many but then the 80s happened, culture shifts back and forth if you look at history as well from progressive to conservative in big and small movements. Before the 60s there was the conservatism of the 50s and the roaring 20s.

B4U-ACT is a non-profit started by a few BLs hoping to change something specific that in turn can change many other things. They work with, not for, Maryland mental health groups to make changes in the way mental health think about minor attracted people. Be aware that they are not about trying to do a 'million man march' on Washington but making small changes over time. Being smart and organized rather than big and flashy.

There are surely other avenues one could take to work for change but this is the only organization already out there (in the US) if you don't want to do your own thing. If you were rich or you had some way to drum up lots of money you could help fund legal defense of pedophiles who are being impaled on trumped up false charges across the country. You could get yourself interviewed across the media to get people talking about us in a different way. Plenty of other things you could do if you think about it.

ALL of these options carry some risk. You mention Martin Luther King in your post. Is he retired and living peacefully with his wife about to have Christmas with his progeny and extended family? Are you going to take that risk and make that stand? Are you going to learn from history and try not to make the same mistakes as your predecessors?
