Specifically you need to build your life round the fact that you are a child of God with a call on your life to make the best possible use of the gifts that He has given you for the benefit of those around you and to His glory. Once you've got that perspective, you can start to determine whether and to what extent your 'obsession' with your YF is a problem. IF you can 'look God in the eye' and say that it isn't, then you don't have an issue. On the other hand if your focus on him is such that it's keeping you away from doing other good stuff with your life, then you need to sort it out, in the same way that someone who has been bereaved of a close family member needs to sort out their grief if, several years later, it is still making them not able to function as they know they ought to. Yes it's hard, but Jesus never promised us an easy road, just 'take up your cross'.
