The two significant passages of Scripture are Genesis 2 and 1 Corinthians 6. Both make reference to a "joining" that happens when a man and a woman have sex.
The joining is described as becoming "one flesh" and "one body" with the sex partner. Fantasy is not covered.... nor required. If we consider, I may have sex with one person and be thinking of another... then with whom have I bound myself? I think the only biblical answer would be the one whom I have physically copulated with. I don't think fantasising about someone binds you to them really... they don't even know about it most of the time. Fantasy is never about sexing a real person... it can only ever be about an image of a person based on our memory of them and that is hardly THE Actually person in any way. There is no mention in Scripture of "soulties" that I'm aware of. Nor is there a mention of a tearing that happens when sexually "joined" people separate. As to using masturbation to bind with God... well its not a biblical concept. Our union with God comes about (biblically) through faith in Christ, baptism in His name, being filled with the Holy Spirit and partaking in communion. Forgive me if this post seems blunt... I'm very tired. Blessings Cat. |
