I'd love to know what the security discussion here consisted of. I would think setting up a youtube account would be greatly more self-exposed for the poster than posting a file-sharing link. After all, it gives "the man" your IP address and one of your emails. Youtube has shown some signs of yielding to fascist pressure from groups like Perverted Justice and I wouldn't trust it.

There was a songwriter usernamed Daneel on bln who had some downloadable songs linked in his siggy, and that seemed not to cause problems. Youtubes are just as downloadable as anything else - they just download as .flv files and then are easily converted to other formats. All links of any kind will need to be vetted by admin anyways, since a mischievous troll may link who-knows-what in any venue, even if he/she only expects the nasty thing to remain on the air a few hours until the complaints come in.
