I think it sounds like his family accepts you, which is a good thing. It all sounds like things are going along just fine with your friendship with him and I am envious! Just keep being patient and keep being yourself with him and see how it all goes. I wouldn't be surprised if you start taking him places for short periods of time at first after a while. How long a while? It's very difficult to say...these things don't exactly follow a pre-planned schedual. But who knows, it could unfold the way my friendship with "L" did amny years ago. And if it does, all I can say is....hang on!! You are in for the time of your life. But I don't want to get your hopes up too much....so just be patient and just keep being a good, good friend to him.
