I agree with Marc, before you have an operation, consult another physician just to be sure. I don't know too much about this kind of thing but I think I have heard of it before. I knew a guy a few years ago who had some serious problems with his sinuses and had to have an operation done. From what I remember it wasn't a really involved operation but it did take some time to heal up.
