I've recently got a recording of it I can't stop listening to.
It's sung by the Choir of New College Oxford, the Academy if Ancient Music is conducted by Edward Higginbottom, on the Naxos label. The solo soprano parts are sung by different trebles and also the choir is all male (meaning the high parts are boys) in addition to the countertenor, which is a little unsettling. Some of the most beautiful choral singing I've ever heard. It's quite an experience to listen to a bunch of boys almost shouting: "King of Kings, and Lord of Lords!!!" |
