My feelings about WtWTA were mixed. On the one hand, I was a bit disappointed, because I had hoped to be more emotionally moved by watching it. [When I read a lot of positive hype about a movie before seeing it, I sometimes end up feeling a bit let down.]
That being said, I do respect the movie a lot, and appreciate what it accomplished. As much as I like "August Rush", I think it relies too much on sentimentality and emotional manipulation. [It knows how to pull your "heart strings".] But WtWTA doesn't do that. It could, I'm sure, but I think it goes, rather, for a more honest, real approach. That doesn't necessarily make for a happy, feel-good movie, but I think it does make for one that is more true to life. And I can appreciate that. Blessings, Rainboy |
