I don't see why that would be unkind. I mean, if you really can't explain why you believe what you do, then maybe you shouldn't be believing it in the first place. Shouldn't we all have a solid foundation from which to base our core beliefs? If you can't explain why you believe what you do on such a fundamental issue, there's something terribly wrong.
