Eldad: Thank you, that's exactly what I was being paranoid about, but as I'll explain, there didn't seem to any suspicion whatsoever. We'll see how things turn out. And since I'm technically not really involved in any official way with the school, the out-of-school interaction rules probably wouldn't apply. It seems to be a very trusting area anyway; I've been living in it for 10 years and no-one's ever had any bad experiences.

Thank you for your replies, guys. It was WAY easier than I thought. I just told my YF that I would meet him in the courtyard after school so we could talk to his parents. His dad was there, and I introduced myself and told him that I was a volunteer, and I asked about organising a playdate sometime. I think I said something along the lines of "I just thought it would be nice to get together and kick a ball around sometime", and he was really cool and positive about it. I wrote him my phone number, and he reminded me to put my name on it (is that a good sign?), we shook hands again, and that was that.

So, with that semi-organised, I skipped home ecstactically. :)
