1 Corinthians 13 (New Living Translation)
4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 5 or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. 6 It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. 7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.


A constant theme throughout the Bible is love, and how we as Christians should be living this as an example to others. Sometimes it seems that when people discuss and debate being right becomes all important and LOVE is lost sight of. When our God gave us his ten commandments the first two where about love and what he expected from us concerning loving him and our neighbors. As we know for God so loved the world that he gave his only Son for us. God gave us the best that he had to offer, I do believe that this is what he wants from us when we offer our love to others. The BEST of what we have. Not what we have left over but as the word says our first fruits! This can be such a hard task as we go through life dealing with people that are ungrateful and judgmental. But as we go through life doing it the Lords way even when it is not appreciated by others we will be rewarded beyond anything we could ever imagine by our Lord and Savior. And the world will see this and want the love joy and piece that we have that was given to us through the Holly Spirit. What a wonderful way to be a good witness as Christians to a world full of hate.

Many of us mentor boys or do volunteer work with boys. And throughout the years of doing this these boys have put me to the test to see just how much I love them. Purposely doing things thinking that I would have enough of it and give up on them. Boys want and needs to be unconditionally loved. I have never let that happen I hold onto them and make sure that they know that I will always be there for them no matter what they do or what type of person they are. (Not to say there are no consequences to pay for their actions). But what a joy it brings not only to me but to the boy when things finely click and they are secure and are able to open up and allow themselves to be loved and can trust once again. Yes LOVE is the most powerful gift we have to share with others


Prayer

Dear Heavenly father, thank you so much for the great gift of love you have given us. A gift that we can share with others. Help us to use this gift to Honor and Glorify your Holly name. Help us not to be afraid to open our hearts and use that love so that others would come to know you as their personal Savior and live a life that is pleasing to you. IN JESUS NAME I PRAY AMEN
