You're welcome. As you can see, people have a variety of opinions here. Personally, I try to take all the opinions along with the reasonings and compare it to what the scripture says and what I feel the Holy Spirit is telling me.

I'm not sure what you mean by the desire being a "help." I myself don't find it very helpful, lol. As far as it being a test, I'm not one who believes that God puts a lot of tests out there for us. I think there are just burdens that come to everyone in the course of life. I think God just expects us to deal with them with His help.
