To the Orthodox, God is everywhere, based on Psalm 138: 8:
"If I ascend into Heaven, you will be there. If I descend into Hell, you will be there."
There is no escaping God.
At the same time, God's love is seen like a fire. If you turn to it in the right way, you are wramed; if you turn from it in the wrong way, you are burned. But it is you who determines which way you will turn.
