I have a wonderful, now 13 year old young friend, we've almost been together for a year now. I'm curious what his relationship with his family is like. Is he spoiled? Are his parents morons?

My young friend has to be the most un-spoiled person on the planet. I'd spend all night trying to explain it, but his mom is jobless, so he's living in a home with his mom, uncle and grandparents, the house is old enough. They are all..... southern-like. Mud bogging, hunting, drinking, Nascar - that crap. He's nothing like them. With that said, they're good people, but his family is nothing but divorces and children from non-married couples. So the only thing I spoil him with - is sanity, peace of mind and of course, attention. The kid is so damn quiet at home. Here he talks away about his hopes and dreams, and the video games we play together.

Perhaps maybe you spoiled him - or his parents did, and by this day and age he knows how to get what he wants, and when the money, the gifts stop coming - he drops you and looks for someone else. I don't know and when I say 'you spoiled' I do not mean that in an offensive 'it's your fault' way. We all just want the people we care about - especially the younger ones, to have it better then we do.
