I think I agree with you on this. I believe Eldad is making the mistake of looking only at sexual attraction and ignoring the full gamut of emotions that come with a sexual orientation. While someone who has a leather fetish needs that item in his sex life in order to feel fulfilled, it is ultimately still another person with whom that individual will fall in love and desire to be in relationships with. Your sexual orientation is far more than just the things that turn you on.
