That said, I really don't see my life as having any sort of meaning. I live it every day to the best of my ability, but mostly my actions are directed by things that I enjoy, or desire. I fail to look at any far-reaching repercussions of my actions, positive or negative; at least until everything's said and done.

That's kind of what the rest of this book is about, getting past that way of living. I hope this will improve as we go along.
