I think that whichever way you go there will be costs and commitments. You have to be able to live with your choices.

On the one hand, not taking the job will cost you having to deal with those expectations you mentioned and living with walking out on all that "so much" they have invested in you.

On the other hand, taking it will mean perhaps having less time to do those other things you want to be doing.

Scripture encourages us to do whatever we do as to the Lord with all our heart (see Colossians 3). Make sure you choose a path that you can put all your heart into. Either path can be offered in service to God (assuming the business is legitimate) and can be seen as serving the higher cause. Running a company well means providing employment for all the staff members under you and that is no small thing.... you're supporting the livelyhood of many families.
