I recommend "The death in Venice" by Thomas Mann. Probably many of you allready know that story but here is a short description for those who don't: the composer Gustav Aschenbach spends his holidays in Venice. In the luxury hotel where he lives he sees the 14 years old boy Tadziu and falls in love with him. He watches that boy all the time (especially at the beach) but never talks to him. Then a very dangerous epidemic appears in Venice but Aschenbach decides to stay...
There is also a very good film of that story. Newlife |
