In both the Saint John Chrysostom's and the Basil the Great's version of the Divine Liturgy, atone point we pray, "...have mercy on me and forgive my transgressions, both voluntary and involuntary, of knowledge and ignorance..."
Anything, whether we were born with it or got it later in life, that isn't holy as the Father is Holy is a sin by "missing the mark". We're supposed to acknowledge that and ask for help in overcoming what we are by nature and strive to get closer to the mark. |
