I don't know anything about the author of this remarkable prayer but we prayed it in church last Sunday and I love it. I am going to use this as my morning prayer every day.

"Lord, I depend on You for everything. I give You my independence. Help me to get beyond myself and become an open vessel through which Your light can shine. Give me Your wisdom and revelation and show me all I need to see to keep me on the road You have for me. Enable me to step out of my past and keep an eye on my eternal future with You. Help me to follow You as You light my path today. In Jesus’ Name, Amen."
