It sounds to me like that's just the way you are. You are not someone who gets emotionally involved easily. Instead, you make up for it by being intentional about how you care for those relationships. I don't think there is anything wrong with that. You're just different and that's fine. My advice is to keep being intentional, keep pursuing those friendships, and try to make yourself understand that just because you care about people at an intellectual level rather than an emotional one, it doesn't mean you don't care. You're just different. Love who you are.
