Whilst for those of us who love the book, the film was a disappointment - almost always the case - it appears to have sparked renewed interest in the book, which made it to the top of the NY Times bestseller list in the past year as a result of the publicity the film generated.

Ender's Game was the first set in a mythos in which Card has now set over 10 books. The sequencing is complex: Ender's Shadow tells the same story as Ender's Game from the perspective of Bean, one of the characters in Ender's Game. It is therefore the book to read after Ender's Game, and in the chronology of the mythos, the sequels of Ender's Shadow are the next ones to read.

After those, Ender in Exile, Speaker for the Dead, Xenocide and Children of the Mind are set much later. Speaker was actually published the year after Ender's Game, giving Card the unique achievement of the Hugo and Nebula double in successive years.

Beyond 'Enderverse', 'Songmaster' includes a celibate AF/YF relationship of amazing power and beauty; definitely worth a read.
