I guess if that had happened to me, and I was thinking clearly, I would have stayed with him. I won't be above stating that how attractive he was would probably have affected me. Anyway, it's probably best to just ask questions of him. You can start off with sports or games, or ask about his favorite food/movie/game/hobby etc. Ultimately I think I'd try to find out what he was doing begging there,... Like what caused that outcome, and then hopefully try to help him.
