But surely you aren't saying that one has to be a believer in order to assume an obligation to and expose ourselves to viewpoints which are uncongenial to us -- whether or not we know in advance that we think all 6 Christian viewpoints visavis homosexuality are nonsence, it's worthwhile understanding the differences. These beliefs have political impact, and as a gay rights activist, I think we do ourselves a disservice if we are unfamiliar with these differences.
