Well just my 2 cents worth, but here goes.
I still think there is a problem when you come to interpret the Bible in a literal, word for word fashion. The Bible is such a big book, you can find a phrase to prove whatever point you want. Just look at how many contradictions are in it. Someone, somewhere has a website devoted to the contradictions it contains, but I can't remember the URL.
I'm sorry to say this, but we must drag Christianity into the 21st Century. All this talk of belief still in Adam and Eve, original sin etc., is just not held up by modern understanding and science. If I sin against God, (and goodness knows I do it all the time) I will take the responsibility myself and not blame my actions on some mythical being called Adam.
The world is the way it is, because it is the way God meant it to be. That includes disease, earthquakes etc. etc. We are here to learn, which is what so many of the other world religions teach us.
Sorry to sound off a bit.
God bless
Dannyboy
