In my research across the net into teachings about homosexuality, I've found a rather well written essay into what liberalism is. I think it's written very well in way that evangelical Christians can understand, so I present it here for your edification: http://student-www.uchicago.edu/~mbaldwin/bible.html. The essay on homosexuality itself is here: http://student-www.uchicago.edu/~mbaldwin/homo.html I think I got the link there from http://php.iupui.edu/~jtownsle/gay.html I've been asked a couple of times to share the links I've been gathering (I've been very selfish with them haven't I ? ;) ), so there they are, a couple of them. So if I'm making a list, I may as well make it a more or less full one. Here's one I've mentioned before, deals well with Lev.: http://www.whosoever.org/v2i5/defense.html. This one seems alright, I haven't read it closely: http://www.csn.net/~jlarue/wtbs.html. Of course, it wouldn't be fair if I didn't include a couple of anti-gay links. Truth be told, decent anti-gay links seems to be hard to come by. Sorry about that. Here's what I have: I'd love to be able to have a chat with this fellow: Joe Dallas, well actually his web site is too bloody slow so I can't check the link, but you might find it later at http://www.leaderu.com/. And this is probably the most thorough and sensible defence of the conservative position I've found, written by a (ex-)gay man, so you know he's not talking out of his *@: http://www.messiah.edu/hpages/facstaff/chase/h/apologet/index.htm. It seems to basically come down to how you view the letters in the Bible, "literal" or otherwise, just as the first link I posted at the top says. That link came from "Bridges Across", which tries to get pro-gays and ex-gays talking to each other (though they don't offer much hope to boylovers), and they can be found at http://www.bridges-across.org/. I had another link listing a whole load of references, print and web, both pro-gay and ex-gay, but I can't find where I misplaced it, and a couple of others besides. I hope that's useful to somebody. Cheers, Fod |
