How long...?

So ya want more posts, huh?

A Question: How long do we have?

They say that in the bible is the answer to when the world will end, but that no man will be able to figure it out... So what does everybody here think? I'd be happy to hear your opinions, speculations, wild guesses...

I'd like to suggest a different approach to a possible answer...

If you accept -(And I assume all Christians would.)- that God created everything, i.e.; the earth, moon, sun, planets, stars, galaxies, and indeed the universe itself, along with the physical laws that govern the universe... Then ask yourself how much of reality is just random chance.

Is it random chance that the land looks the way it does? Are the resources that are all around us there by chance?

Some religious 'people' take a rather backward perspective on things. Some still think that science killed God, some think that science proved he never existed in the first place... Some people would have us live in the dark ages... I feel that science has proved that the universe couldn't possibly have just 'happened'...

But, anyway... Consider this; if God had not wanted us to know of the past, why leave fossils, etc.? It was certainly in his power to remove them. If God didn't want us to build industry, etc., why allow us to find fossil fuels? If God didn't want us to have a limitless source of clean burning hydrogen fuel, why cover 75% of the Earth's surface with water? If God didn't want us to develop nuclear technology, why all of the uranium laying about the place? If God didn't want us to have clean burning thermal fusion reactors, why provide us with so much helium-3 on the moon's surface? And what about the limitless resources of the asteroid belt? What about the possibility of Faster-Than-Light travel?

I think God wants and/or expects us to go farther, and reach further...
Ultimately, I feel that we have a bright future ahead of us...

Some believe that the end is near, but the same was true a thousand years ago... (At the risk of sounding overly melodramatic;-)
Somehow, I suspect that the human adventure has only just begun...

PS: A music recommendation: A Kind Of Magic - Queen. Check Napster.
