Do YOU exist?

All I know that indicates your existance is a series of messages that appear on this board on various occaisions. But there is nothing I can do that PROVES your existance to the sceptic who argues that these messages are actually from someone else who wants to pretend to be you.

A similar principle applies to our trying to prove the existance of God; there are things that have happened in my life, and there are things that have occurred in history, especially the Resurrection, that appear to indicate strongly the existance of God. But there is no proof, merely things that make this the most likely explanation.

The whole problem of religious faith is greatly confused by the fact that once you start changing your belief, it begins to impose a need for you to change your life as well. This is costly - which makes it far more comfortable to stick with whatever belief you are currently attached to.

I gather from other posts that you've had a negative experience of Christians; it is therefore true to say that you experienced people whose faith has not been applied to their lives. In effect they have been evidence to you that God does not exist, as my own experiences have been that he does. Apart from apologising for what they did or failed to do, all I can suggest is that you try to raise your eyes above them to consider the wider issue of the claims of Christianity and the evidence that it does offer.
