Please say hi to Julian for me! He's not a bad little chap, even though he is a bit of a stuffed shirt. So I'm left with the dilemma of how to make a tasteful, unobtrusive, nondestructive announcement. Any suggestions would be welcome. I guess a lot depends on whom you wish to tell. Your post here, for instance, certainly met your criteria. A good friend of mine made a similar decision a year after graduating from Bible college. One of the things he had to deal with was answering the same questions from practically everyone. (The fact that both of his parents are evangelical pastors didn't make things any simpler.)
