his conclusion to the Ender's Game series is appalling; but Ender's Shadow - which tells the same story as Ender's Game from Beans's perspective - is brilliant. And there is a further sequel 'Shadow of the Hegmeon' - due out next year. But the most interesting book for the members of this forum is 'Songmaster' - a substantial element of which is about a 'loved boy'. Either Orson has an amazing imagination, or was deeply loved as a boy himself. And while we're having a Card fest, the Alvin Maker series has some good boy moments.... |
