Celebrate salvation-- don't fear it

Derek, I'm not normally in the habit of giving pat answers to complex questions but it seems to me that the answer here is obvious; your problem here is that you don't know what God wants, right? So tell everybody else to mind their own business and ASK GOD.
Nobody in your church, not even your pastor, and nobody on this board can see into your heart completely. Remember that even the Scriptures were written by human beings as they attempted to understand what God had revealed, and the Bible makes it clear that no one is without sin and therefore no one is capable of judging another's actions. If you must look to Scripture for advice, then look to Jesus' own words: does he anywhere mention a hatred for homosexuality? Or does he instead condemn fear, hypocrisy and condemnation itself? Obviously a God of unconditional love is not going to turn His back on you when you are really trying to do His will, even if you screw up. So don't be so worried about making a mistake; just do your best to love and serve God and humanity, and beyond that, let go and enjoy yourself. The Lord will make it pointedly clear to you what He wants-- if He hasn't yet, that's His decision, not yours.
Love Nathan.
