Yes, I have been aware of this "double standard" that gay men have for a long time. One thing that irks me about it, is that when you are both gay and a teenboylover, like I am, these gay men don't consider you to be a "good" gay person. They look at you as someone who threatens their respectability, because they perceive you as someone who give credence to the old notions about "recruiting and perverting boys". But the thing that really irks me is that I have found attraction to teen boys to be a fairly common phenomenon among gay men. So the double-standard is very hypocritical. I don't think that the issue of gay men being attracted to teen boys is all that "alleged"--I think it is very real in many cases. |
