A battered woman can be told by friends and loved ones, "Don't go back to your abusive husband." Yet, words don't matter. She returns with bruises and tears in her eyes. In a similar way, you can't try to convert people to Christianity by words. You must live in the way Jesus lived. This type of living gets people to look at you. It gets people to want what you have. Boys notice too!!!

In the Bible, there are examples of people God told to do something, and they listened (for example, Noah, Abraham, David, ect.). Yet there are plenty of examples in which people basically put their middle finger up towards God and said, "I ain't listening. No, I do it my way." Sometimes God got pissed off. Ah, the wrath of God. Well, that's old testement stuff.

In the new testement, Jesus became the living word. He showed us how to live, yet today, we all, at times, put our middle finger up at God and say, "No, I won't live that way." Fortunately, God is still slow to anger, and we are forgiven for our putting our middle finger up at God. In many instances, words are cheap. If you want to convert people to Christianity or to a way of life, then live in the way Jesus lived, and people will notice! Ah, to shine on!

In closing, Jim has made it clear he doesn't want to be lectured at. If he wants to find Christianity as a way of life, he will have to live life, and based on his life expereinces, come to his own conclusions. You can give people words, but in the end, it is Jim's life, his journey.

Everyone remember to shine on despite the darkness in and around you!
Everyone remember to build each other up and not tear each other down!
Everyone remember to take more steps forwards than backwards!
Everyone remember to rise like a great pine after the fiery ashes of Mount St. Helens!

Make a difference in a boy's life!
