It's something we have, or we wouldn't be here would we? While I recognize that many, like you, think it's something evil, I don't share that view. I think that following it blindly and without thought as to consequences is, well, a stupid and dangerous thing to do. In my own life, which spans more than a few decades, there was only one person with whom I thought a physically sexual expression was appropriate and continue to think so. In all other cases (and that's a lot), I've seen good reason not to go that route or even think seriously about it. Still, I believe the sexual desire adds to our willingness to give of ourselves in situations where we might not otherwise be so willing to do so. In that sense, I do see it as a gift, rather than a curse.....albeit a gift that must be utilized with care. ---Ford |
