You wrote: "as christians we cannot continue living a life of sin"

I understand that we should do things that are pleasing to God. However, not one of us is perfect, so I find the statement above hateful. It places me in a box which I can never get out of! It makes people feel guilt ridden and to live a life in which they are crippled and unable to shine on despite their sins. In our journey, we are enlightened as to the things that are to be changed. God clearly makes us and encourages us to change those things that are to be changed; however, even if a particular "crippling" sin is taken away, God will clearly open our eyes to other sins that exist within our hearts. For inside us, in our hearts, are things that are NOT pleasing to God. Always!

How can we live up to God's perfection? We can't! Instead of trying to live clean and perfect, I am suggesting that we accept this in us. It is called unconditional love. We should do this to ourselves. Don't you see - God loves us despite our sins!

I am not saying we should NOT turn our backs on God and sin like a madman. I am suggesting that if God wants us to change something about ourselves, He will make it clear...in His time. Your statement above is first of all impossible, and second of all, attempting to put people at different levels. Is one sin any worse than another? We are all guilty. That's a fact! Always have been and always will be (at least here on earth). I believe we should love others (sinful and guilty as we are) in the same way Jesus showed His love for the sinful people He came into contact with on His "manly" visit to earth. How does the lie above build others up? It doesn't. It simply tears people down with guilt and shame! Is that love?
