Personally, I don't believe God has made "us" boylovers, just as I don't believe God has made "us" homosexuals. Having said that, I don't totally agree with the belief of so many fundalmentalist christians that homosexuality or boylove for that matter is a choice. As I think Ive said before, there is an element of choice however, I see that choice coming into play when we choose to engage in sexual activities with someone of the same sex or with a child. I agree that both homosexuals and boylovers may have "tendency" or rather, a disposition towards certain factors such as, a deep seated sensitivity towards boys. I am also of the belief that homosexuality & I suspect boylove is a result primarily of the fall of mankind (Gen 3) but also, a complex mix of psychological, parental, enviromental, social and biological factors. I like the point you make about, those that don't fall into what most consider the normal range for human existence, especially as I suffer from an acute condition of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (and don't accept the notion that God created me with this disorder). "I don't believe God *makes* mistakes, but is it possible He *allows* them?" Good question, my answer to that is "YES!" I believe that he does sometimes allow for "mistakes" to happen, in order to teach us certain things, to enable us to grow in such a way that, we learn to be totally dependent upon him, rather than ourselves or others. Perhaps, as a means of showing us his unconditional love, acceptance and compassion that, even though we may have a particular "problem" he is so wonderful that he loves us regardless, of our condition. Or perhaps, in order to reveal his healing power to us, by healing us of such problems. Good post! |
