Are they serious about that "Homo handshake" thing??? Why is it that so many "baptist's" seem to have lost the plot in the U.S I mean, Im a "baptist" although, I simply consider myself a christian and nothing more, but I do attend a baptist church here in Australia. But seeing some of these so called "Baptist churches" eg: Westbro Baptist, makes me gringe! The church I go to is the most wonderful, most loving, warm and accepting church Ive ever been to. There is ceretainly no harsh condemnation of homosexuals and so on. What is it with Rev.Phelps? Why does the religious right have so much power and influence in the U.S? Here in Australia the religious right, if you can call it that, has very little power and influence in fact, of all the churches in Australia, the catholic and Anglican church are the two most "powerful" and influential. And they are certainly not "right wing" freaks like Phelps and his mob. |
